Meet Your Doula

Hi there! I'm Shelby - Certified Birth Doula (AWWS), wife to my high school sweetheart, and mama to our four kids. My personal birth experiences have all been wildly different, but each one treasured in my heart. Each one beloved.
Through my experiences, my passion for birth work took root. Over the years, that passion has grown and developed as I have studied, researched, and expanded my own knowledge and understanding of pregnancy, birth, and babies. In that time, I had a growing awareness that too many expectant mamas step into their birth journeys feeling alone, unseen, unheard, or unprepared.
I feel called to stand in the gap.
Every birth is different. It is not merely clinical - it is personal, emotional, and transformational. Whether you're birthing in a hospital or at home, choosing medicated or unmedicated, expecting your first baby or your fifth, navigating overwhelming joy or grief - your birth story matters. Every woman deserves to feel seen, heard, supported, and honored - regardless of where or how her birth unfolds.
I offer gentle presence and guidance to support you in experiencing an empowered and informed birth - a birth experience to treasure in your heart.
This is your story. Your beloved beginning.
My Approach
Birth is not just physical - it's emotional, spiritual, and deeply personal. I believe that every woman deserves to feel safe, heard, and empowered as she brings life into the world. My approach as a doula is rooted in compassion, preparation, and peaceful presence.
I come alongside you to offer more than information - I also offer grounding, advocacy, and wholehearted support. Whether your birth is fast or long, quiet or intense, at home or at the hospital, I will be your steady, gentle presence to speak peace, to guard your birth space, and to remind you that you were made for this.
I trust in God's divine design of birth and believe that He authors every life with love. While my beliefs about birth influence the manner in which I serve, you are fully welcome here just as you are. I am here to serve you with wholehearted care, unwavering support, open hands, and an open heart.
Because every birth is different.
And every beginning is beloved.

My Heart for Birth
Core Beliefs
Birth is not something that happens to you.
I believe that you and your baby are united in orchestrating and directing your labor and birth.
You were made for this.
I believe that you, your baby, and your body were created for such a time as this. In labor, we need to welcome and awaken your God-given intuition.
Your voice is the most important one in the birth room.
I believe that you are most aligned with your birth process. Labor is not the time to compromise your voice for the sake of being an agreeable patient. You know what you need. You know what your baby needs. And you have the right to choose how you birth.
Every birth story is different, but each one beloved.
I believe that there are so many different variables that can arise in birth. Every woman is different. Every baby is different. Every pregnancy is different. And every birth is different. No matter how or where you labor and birth, your story matters and is beloved.

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7
